Project developer TRIPPP
Project: Den Hoek Westmalle
Status: ongoing

TRIPPP stands for Trees Improve People Planet Profit. For them, sustainability is not a buzzword but a clear guiding principle in every project. By consciously choosing renewable materials and smart solutions, they develop projects that remain relevant not only today, but also in the long term.

Located at the intersection of the Antwerpsesteenweg in Westmalle, Hoek is a distinctive, circular building without a traditional front or rear façade. Its architecture turns the project into a recognizable landmark and reflects TRIPPP’s forward-looking vision, in which compact construction and sustainable use of space are key.

A crucial part of this vision is situated beneath the building. Instead of additional surface paving or above-ground parking, a smart, integrated parking solution was chosen. The ground-level, partially sunken car park allows natural daylight to enter and ensures smooth circulation for residents and visitors. This approach optimizes space without compromising on comfort or safety.

This well-considered parking solution perfectly supports the project’s green character. By organizing parking efficiently, valuable above-ground space remains available for high-quality, sustainable use. Less paving, more liveability, a tangible way in which mobility reinforces the ecological ambitions of the project.

Above the parking level, Hoek offers a flexible layout with five spacious apartments featuring one or two bedrooms and wrap-around terraces, or alternatively commercial and practice spaces. The building is COâ‚‚-negative and constructed entirely from sustainable materials such as CLT panels and timber elements.

With Hoek, Wedico demonstrates how smart parking solutions play a crucial role in sustainable construction. By integrating mobility into the design from the outset, they enhance not only the comfort and functionality of the building, but also the broader green vision that TRIPPP strongly embraces.
